Water samples have shown an elevated level of E. coli in Line Creek in Riverside, and citizens are advised not to go into the water.

The City of Riverside posted a notice on their website about the bacteria, telling people not to "wade or swim" in the creek.

The city said that Kansas City Water Services is keeping an eye on the creek to try and see what caused the contamination.

They said repairs or "mitigation activities" will be done as sources are identified.

They said Riverside and Kansas City staff are working together to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
