GREAT BEND, KS (KWCH) -

A 15-month old girl sitting in a stroller was burned by fireworks on Tuesday.

The incident happened shortly before 10 o'clock in the 200 block of West 82nd Street South.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office said fireworks were being shot off in the area.

One missile flew across the street and struck a stroller, burned it and the 15-month-old girl who was in the stroller. The child suffered serious injuries.

The little girl’s father, mother, and five-year-old sister all received minor injuries while they were trying to save the little girl from the burning stroller.

Neighbors from across the street ran across the street and poured water on the toddler.
