KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department is investigating a homicide in the area of the 4900 block of Parallel Parkway.

The shooting happened at a laundromat attached to the gas station at 3:35 p.m.

Police say three men confronted a man as he was putting laundry in the trunk of his car.

Officers said that's when the suspects began shooting at the victim.

The man died before an ambulance could arrive. Officers found him lying on the ground, deceased.

Several people witnessed this shooting and detectives interviewed those people.

KCTV5 News spoke to a family who had just started filling up their car with gas when the shots erupted.

“It's terrifying to see this right where I live at,” Deven Betts said. “It's crazy around here. It's sad. I wouldn't want that to be my brothers or uncles or daddies. Nobody.”

KCK police said this is the fourth homicide they've investigated in the past week.

Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
