1 critically injured in crash involving wrong-way driver, semi

JOHNSON COUNTY, KS (KCTV) -

An accident involving a semi-truck and a wrong way driver has left one person in critical condition.

The incident began shortly after 6 p.m. on Thursday on southbound 169 Highway just north of 175th Street. 

It's believed the incident was caused by a wrong-way driver. 

At least one car and a semi-truck are involved in an accident. 

Both northbound and southbound 169 Highway in the area have been shut down. 169 Highway is blocked at 183rd Street to the south and blocked at 167th Street to the north.

The Johnson County Sheriff's Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, the Spring Hill Police Department, and the Olathe Police Department are all assisting with traffic in the area.
