KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A man was stabbed in the stomach Thursday morning on a city bus.

The 25-year-old victim was stabbed about 5:20 a.m. near East 40th Street and Prospect Avenue.

Police say two men were sitting next to each other when they started arguing. During the argument, one of the men stabbed the other in the stomach.

Both men were sitting in the front of the bus, near the driver. The driver quickly pulled over after the stabbing.

The suspect, an older man, did get off the bus. Police found him along Prospect Avenue and arrested him. He was taken to jail.

Officials say 12 to 15 passengers were on the bus when the stabbing happened. No one else was hurt.

Officers are going through the buses surveillance footage to see exactly what took place on the bus that led to the man being stabbed.

This was not the first time someone has been stabbed on a city bus. Earlier this month, a man was stabbed and fell through the windshield. That happened just a mile away from Thursday's incident.
