OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

The search has intensified for an Overland Park man who went missing after a night out with friends.

Matthew Johnson was last seen on June 18. Family members said he was in contact with his brother after leaving a party bus at the Sun Fresh off Interstate 70.  After that, he disappeared.

Joshua Johnson, Matthew's brother, said he is worried.

"Been kind of hard sleeping just because I don't know much where my brother is," Johnson said.

Johnson said his brother got off a party bus and got into his car.

He said Matthew called him around 3:40 a.m. to say he needed a ride home but didn't know where he was.

"I had him Facebook chat us, the video chat so I could at least see where, like if he could give me his surroundings or maybe an address or something and he gave us the mailbox that said 4030," Johnson said.

That mailbox was on Nearman Drive.

Police later found Johnson’s 2010 Chevrolet Malibu near 59th Street and Sidwell Avenue. They said it had a banged up front bumper, blown front right tire and side damage.

Investigators believe he hit a mailbox, then got out of his car to either walk for help or make it to his mom’s several miles away.

Around 5 a.m. the night Matthew vanished, he sent a text to Johnson that said he was along railroad tracks.

That is the last time his family heard from him.

"Just knowing that I haven't been able to text him or call him or even do our little harassing phone calls and things like that," Johnson said. "So it's been rough, so we're keeping our faith and trusting in the Lord knowing that he will bring him back home."

Police flew over wooded areas with a helicopter, a drone, talked to neighbors and canvassed the area where Johnson’s cell phone pinged.

Investigators haven’t found anything so far.

The family said they are still holding on to hope that Johnson will come home.

If you have any information on Johnson’s location, call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
