Allstate ranks KCK drivers best in America

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

A major car insurance company has released its list of America’s best drivers and a metro city finds itself on top.

Allstate released its 2017 America’s Best Drivers Report and named Kansas City, KS as the safest driving city in the country.

The report says KCK drivers are 32-percent less likely to get in a crash than the average US driver.

According to the report, the average KCK driver only files an insurance claim every 14.9 years.

In Olathe, KS, drivers file a claim about every 12 years, In Overland Park, KS, every 11 years and in Kansas City, MO, every 10 years.

Allstate says local drivers are more aware of their surroundings and know the area well.

The report does leave some room for improvement.

It says eliminating distractions such as cell phones, people giving themselves enough time to get where they are going and better maintain their vehicles.
