Charges have been filed in a deadly shooting.

On Tuesday afternoon, prosecutors charged Prince Conrad with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.

A man died from a gunshot wound on Monday evening. Police say he was found in a home at E. 39th Street and Hardy in Kansas City.

Conrad told police he was with the victim at the home, where they both snorted methamphetamine.

He told police he thought the victim was a "demon" and took a handgun out of the victim's pocket and attempted to shoot him.

However, Conrad said he missed the victim and shot himself in the leg instead. Conrad later stated to police after he accidentally shot himself, the victim helped him upstairs and wrapped a towel around the wound.

According to a news release from the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office, the victim said "shoot him in the head" before the final shots were fired back in the basement.

Police say Conrad was discovered 0.2 miles away from the scene suffering from a gunshot wound.

Witnesses told police they saw the victim with Conrad using methamphetamine and observed the victim helping him into the bathroom. A $150,000 bond has been requested.
