Standoff in the 7400 block of Wabash Ave. ends after 9 hours

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police in Kansas City were involved in a standoff with a person suspected of shooting at a man.

At about 6 a.m., officers responded to a home in the 7400 block of Wabash Avenue in regard to a shots fired call.

When they arrived they found a man who told them that someone inside the home shot at him.

The suspect refused to come out of the home and a standoff began.

Negotiators were called to the scene.

Police say a woman was inside the house. They did not say how she was involved in the situation.

The man was not injured by the gunshots.

The standoff ended just before 3 p.m. with a man being taken into custody. He will be placed on an investigative hold.
