LEAWOOD, KS (KCTV) -

A new all-inclusive park opened Tuesday at Leawood City Park.

The park, located at 10601 Lee Blvd., features adaptive swings with head support, an adaptive seat on the zip line, musical equipment at wheelchair height and much more.

Five-year-old Olivia said she was excited to play on the new park.

“I’m going to go up and down the ramps,” Olivia said. “Do whatever is up there.”

Sara Bloomfield, Olivia’s mom, is grateful to have a park near her home.

“We are so overjoyed to have this,” Bloomfield said.

The park was built using money from community donations and Royals Charities, which gave $60,000 to Variety KC last year.

Variety KC is a children’s charity in the greater Kansas City area that provides children with developmental disabilities adaptive equipment and other opportunities for activity and inclusion.

Rex Huddler, Royals broadcaster and Variety KC volunteer, said he is happy to see all the joy and happiness that the park is bringing.

“Just looking at these kids, seeing how much fun they’re having,” Huddler said.
