The Chickle: Home run idea, or a swing and a miss?

Does the Chickle sound delicious or just downright disgusting?

I'll take one now, please.
No thanks, I don't think that's a real food.

(MEREDITH) -- The Chickle is putting foodies in a bit of a, well, pickle: is a pickle split open and filled with Nashville hot chicken a sandwich, or something else entirely? No matter what kind of officially sanctioned food item it is, the Chickle seems to have been a home run, at least in terms of grabbing the internet’s attention.

The Chickle’s major league flavor comes from a minor league baseball clash between the Fresno Grizzlies and the Nashville Sounds. I don’t know if Fresno is known for its pickles, but Nashville’s famously hot chicken is front and center in this creative concession. You can even get it with a side of pickle chips to help you stay in the game while the Chickle brings the heat.

The Sounds won their Thursday matchup against the Grizzlies, but they didn’t seem to be all in on this Chickle idea, asking for tacos instead.

Unfortunately, if you happen to be a fan of both minor league ball and pickle-based sandwiches, you’ll have to hope the Chickle gets called up again. After a two-day stint this week in Fresno, this hybrid curiosity isssss outta here. But there’s still hope, if you like to live vicariously. Lots of folks on social media have posted pictures of the rookie concession sensation on Twitter so you can feast your eyes, if not your appetites.
