KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Thursday is a big day for Kansas City Public Schools .

Members of the Missouri Board of Education will be visiting several schools, including making a stop at the Kansas City Neighborhood Academy.

The reason for this visit? To shine a light on the progress students have made.

After almost 30 years, the district has scored at full accreditation level.

Throughout the day students and staff can take this opportunity and show state officials their plans to keep the momentum going. Officials with Kansas City Public Schools will also be on the tour.

"My goal as a superintendent is to do something bold," Kansas City Public Schools Superintendent Mark Bedell said.

"We've been in the basement and were now on the first floor," School Board member John Fiero said.

Thursday is also the first day of enrollment for the upcoming school year.

Applications can be picked up at individual schools or you found online.

As a reminder, some schools only have limited seats so it's better to get those applications in sooner rather than later.
