Police seek 2 suspects in KCK child murder

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

Police in Kansas City are asking the public for help as they look for suspects in a homicide that took the life of a child.

The homicide happened May 27 in the 700 block of Vermont Avenue in Kansas City, KS.

KCK police got a call about 7:45 p.m. of an unresponsive juvenile in that area. When they arrived they found a 4-year-old, Honesty Sanders, laying on the floor of an apartment.

Officers tried to perform CPR on the child until she was taken to an area hospital where she later died.

Police are now searching for two suspects in the case.

Devondre Sanders, 27, and Sierra Mitchell, 23, have been charged with first-degree murder by the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office.
