TOPEKA, KS. (WIBW) - The franchisee of the north Topeka McDonald's where two law enforcement officers found mustard mixed in their soft drinks says the company is "shocked by the isolated actions of a single employee."

Tom Dobski added the employee, whom he did not name, "no longer works for the organization.

“All customers, including local law enforcement officers who protect and serve our communities, are always welcome at our restaurants," he said. "We proudly support police officers and all divisions of first responders at our restaurants across northeast Kansas.”

Reports first circulated on social media that a Topeka Police officer found mustard in his soft drink when he went through the McDonald's drive-thru, in the 2000 block of NW Topeka Blvd.

The Kansas Highway Patrol confirmed that a trooper found mustard in his drink recently as well.

13 NEWS reached out to the Topeka Police Dept. which declined to make a statement on the incident. The Kansas Highway Patrol said they alerted management when it happened.

Dobski says the company launched an internal investigation as soon as they learned of the complaint.
