KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police have taken one suspect into custody and are searching for two more after a chase that ended with a crash. 

Platte County Sheriff's Department attempted to stop a vehicle on southbound I-29 near Tiffany Springs Rd. shortly after 8 p.m. for traffic related charges.

The vehicle, a blue Ford Taurus,refused to stop and a deputy pursued the vehicle south on I-29. The deputy terminated the pursuit south of 72nd St. When they exited at NW 64th St., they came upon a two-vehicle accident.

The suspect vehicle struck another vehicle at the intersection of NW 64th St. and Prairie View Rd.

According to witnesses, two people fled from the Ford Taurus. 

Officers from Platte County Sheriff's Office and the Kansas City Police Department are searching the area, looking for individuals that fled the scene. 

The driver of the Ford Taurus, a 36-year-old black male, was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. A passenger in the vehicle that was struck, a 22-year-old male, was also transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Kansas City Police Department are investigating the collision.
