Man in critical condition after stabbing in Lawrence

LAWRENCE, KS (KCTV) -

A man in Lawrence is in critical condition after being stabbed Friday morning.

The stabbing happened about 5:45 a.m. in the 1500 block of Oak Hill Avenue in Lawrence, KS.

Police say a deputy with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was on patrol and came into contact with a man near 13th St. and Haskell Avenue. The man, a 37-year-old from Lawrence, had blood on his clothes and was taken into custody.

Lawrence police went to the man’s residence and found another man, a 52-year-old from Lawrence, stabbed and suffering from obvious critical injuries.

The man was taken to an area hospital via helicopter.
