KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A former Northgate Middle School teacher pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree statutory sodomy.

Samuel D. Waltemath is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old in a treehouse.

The mother of the 13-year-old issued a warning to other parents in July of last year.

The girl's mother says her intuition told her something was wrong when she noticed her daughter was having trouble sleeping and her behavior changed. Her instincts caused her to check her daughter’s phone.

According to court documents, the Waltemath is accused of using Facebook and texts to tell the 13-year-old to sneak out of her grandmother's house to meet him in a treehouse to have sex.

After KCTV5 News first reported the accusations, two other young women stepped forward to say that the teacher used the exact same method to pursue relationships with them when they were teen girls.

Sentencing for Waltemath has been set for Dec. 8 at 10 a.m. in Clay County.
