KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A foster mom is suing a Missouri agency used to help place foster kids.

She says the for-profit company intentionally withheld information about the teenager she was looking after.

She is suing after she says the National Mentor Services, better known as Missouri Mentor, intentionally withheld a foster teen's sex abuse history about two years ago.

She claims the teen sexually abused her young grandson.

"If they had any information that this child was sexually aggressive, they never would have had him in the home at all," said Rebecca Randles, the woman's attorney. "And a whole different series of Services would have been available to that child. It's a tragedy on two levels, a sexual abuse victim from the grandmother's perspective and there's also a child who isn't getting the proper care and treatment."

It's unclear how much the family is suing for.

KCTV5 reached out to the agency and the state, but have not heard back.
