Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 10 of the 2016-2017 season, the NFL announced Wednesday morning.
Berry had nine tackles, two pass breakups, one tackle for a loss and one interception returned for a touchdown in the Chiefs’ 20-17 win over the Carolina Panthers.
The pick-six was a turning-point in the Chiefs comeback win over the Panthers as Kansas City rattled off 20 unanswered points.
Berry’s touchdown was the only Chiefs touchdown in the game.
Berry has two interceptions in 2016, 12 in his career and four career interceptions returned for a touchdown.
Berry is the second Chief to win the award in the 2016-2017 season. Cornerback Marcus Peters won the award in week 3.
