KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A 24-year-old Raytown man faces a murder, assault and other felony charges for firing multiple times into a stranded vehicle with four women, killing one and injuring others.

Deandre M. Jackson faces second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, three counts of first-degree assault and five counts of armed criminal action charges. Prosecutors requested a bond of $500,000 cash.

According to court records, police were dispatched Saturday to 21st Street and Cleveland Avenue on a shooting and found four female victims who were suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, Maryanna Pennington, died from her wounds.

Investigation of the scene, according to court records, revealed that the Pennington's vehicle had stopped due to a broken front axle. The victims had called for assistance.

Nearly three dozen shell casings were found at the scene around the vehicle. Witnesses and victims told police that a shooter was "Day Day" who was Jackson.

One said he had been fighting with one of the victims that day. Another witness also identified Jackson as the person who opened up the front passenger door of the stranded vehicle and shot into the vehicle.

The case remains under investigation.
