KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

With colder temperatures on the horizon, a local group is raising funds to help three outreach groups in Kansas City assist with dogs.

Scott Poore runs “Adopt, Don’t Shop KC.”

Poor set up a GoFundMe page with the goal of raising $5,000 for those groups.

On both sides of the state line, the groups do what they can to help dogs in need.

“They use it for hay, for food, for vaccinations,” Poore said. “Dogs can literally freeze to death.”
