LEAWOOD, KS (KCTV) -

The Leawood Police Department is looking for a suspect who robbed a Hy-Vee Pharmacy at gunpoint on Sunday afternoon.

Police say about 3:15 p.m. a white man entered the pharmacy at 12122 State Line Road and immediately displayed a small black handgun to the two employees before running from the store with cash and narcotics.

The employees were shaken up but were not physically injured.

The suspect is described as approximately 5-foot 6-inches tall, with a slim build, brown or dark blonde hair and possibly some facial hair.

Police say he was wearing a light green hooded sweatshirt under a brown checkered flannel jacket, tan pants, dark sunglasses and blue gloves.

Witnesses say the man had a strong odor of cigarette smoke and is believed to have fled the area in a gray or silver older model Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable four-door car.

Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
