INDEPENDENCE, MO (KCTV) -

A man drove his car into a house after leading police on a chase in Independence early Thursday morning.

It happened about 1:45 a.m. near E. 47th St. and Blue Ridge Boulevard.

Police attempted to make a routine traffic stop when the driver took off. Police pursued the man.

By the time police caught up to him the man had driven his car into a house.

Officers say it appeared the driver took the corner too fast, lost control, drove through a fence and hit the house.

Police say the car hit the corner of the house but did not fully enter the house.

No one was hurt but police quickly took the driver into custody.
