OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

Police have issued a safety alert after a girl reported a suspicious man who offered her a ride in an Overland Park neighborhood.

The Overland Park Police Department received a report from the student about 8 a.m. Wednesday regarding the man in the area of West 133rd and Switzer streets.

According to the female student, the man asked if she needed a ride. The girl refused the ride, and the driver stated, “You’re beautiful by the way”.

The man left the scene driving east on 133rd Street toward Antioch Road. The driver was identified as a white man in his mid-20s, with dark hair and a shadow beard.  He drove away in a dark-red older four-door sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS or the Overland Park Police Department at 913-895-6300.
