KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

One year ago Tuesday, the Kansas City Royals won the crown and claimed their second World Series championship in franchise history.

This year, the Royals failed to make the postseason for the first time since 2013.

That means a loss for some businesses in Kansas City.

Some restaurants and bar owners in the metro say they’ve noticed a difference.

Allen Ruyera, the general manager of the Flying Saucer in the Kansas City Power & Light District, said business has dipped 15 percent from 2014 and 2015.

"There was so much going on,” Ruyera said. “The atmosphere was great, then the parade was one of the best days that we've had in store history and we've had some really good days."

He said he hopes the Royals can return to the postseason next year and is pulling for the Kansas City Chiefs to earn a spot in the NFL’s playoffs.
