Kansas City home defaced with hateful graffiti sells

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A home that was once tagged with graffiti bashing white residents now has new owners.

The cottage home on East 40th Terrace in Kansas City finally sold on Tuesday.

It took some time, not because of what was inside the home, but what appeared outside.

When a young woman attempted to close out on the home last month, graffiti stating "NO WHITE...BLM" was found on the exterior the home.

"BLM" stands for Black Lives Matter.

It was enough to frighten the potential buyer from purchasing the home.

The seller was every bit as upset, as he thought he helped a young mother get a fresh start.

However, another buyer stepped up to purchase the home.

Neighbor Jared Owens says he was happy.

"It's great for the neighborhood," Owens said. "Lots of young blood, coming in. I mean, it's a couple bad eggs around here. But for the most part, it's a pretty quiet neighborhood."
