Two persons of interest are being questioned in connection with a deadly shooting early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called about 12:30 a.m. to the 1700 Block of Southwest Park Ridge Drive in reference to shots fired in the area.

When they arrived on the scene, they found a 46-year-old man in the parking lot of Park Ridge Townhomes dead from an apparent gunshot.

The man was identified as Luis Cedres.

Witnesses gave police a description of a car that several people fled in. Officers heading to the scene saw the car speeding away from the area and tried to pull it over.

The vehicle ended up in a ditch near 30th Terrace in Independence.

Two people fled from the car into nearby woods. Officers found a third person in the vehicle who had sustained a gunshot wound. That person was taken to an area hospital.
