LIBERTY, MO (KCTV) -

A man has been arrested at a Liberty Price Chopper on an outstanding warrant after wearing a clown mask in the store and parking lot.

On Saturday at 8:42 p.m., police officers went to the area near the Price Chopper at 896 S. 291 Highway to investigate a suspicious man wearing a clown mask.

Police had gotten two 911 calls about a clown driving a grey Ford Fusion in the Price Chopper parking lot who would sometimes get out of the car and scare people. Several teenage girls and a woman in the parking lot said they were scared by the masked man’s appearance and behavior.

He also reportedly entered the store with the mask on, but took it off when management asked him to.

When officers arrived, they stopped the man driving the car. He immediately removed his mask, which was described as a white rubber clown mask with a red nose. He said he had just bought it at a nearby Halloween store and was waiting in the area to meet with his father. He denied trying to scare anyone.

The man was identified as 22-year-old Gabriel Harding from Liberty. No charges stemmed from his behavior that night, but he was arrested for an outstanding stealing warrant that had been issued in Kansas City with a $250 bond.

He was transferred to the custody of the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department for the warrant.
