BLUE SPRINGS, MO (KCTV) -

A Blue Springs man was charged in the shooting of a woman police found in a driveway, balled-up, bound at the wrists and suffering from gunshots.

Jose F. Hernandez, 35, faces first-degree domestic assault and armed criminal action charges. Prosecutors have requested a bond of $300,000.

According to court records filed Friday, Blue Springs police found the victim inside a residence in the 2800 block of Southeast Sixth Street early Thursday after receiving calls related to gun shots there.

The officers found the victim balled up in the driveway. She was covered in what appeared to be blood. She had a rope tied behind her back from her left wrist to her right wrist.

She was suffering from two gunshot wounds, one through the chest. It also appeared as her face had been beaten.

She identified her shooter as "Jose." The victim remains in intensive care.

Witnesses reported hearing gunshots, hearing a woman screaming and seeing Hernandez' red car leave the area soon after.

One witness saw Hernandez and the victim leaving the residence together. Blood and rope were found in Hernandez' room.
