KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Eight people are sick following a salmonella outbreak in Kansas, Missouri, and Illinois.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and Department of Agriculture are among the agencies investigating the outbreak.

Two of the eight victims of the outbreak have been hospitalized. Six of the residents live in Missouri, one lives in Kansas.

Traceback investigations have identified shell eggs distributed by the Good Earth Egg Company as the source of the outbreak. The company is located in Bonne Terre, MO.

The CDC says the eggs distributed by the company came in three different brands. It’s recommended to ask your store.

Hy-Vee does not sell any Good Earth Egg Company eggs in its stores, according to a spokesperson.
