CLAY COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -

Several homes in Clay County were renovated as part of Rebuilding Together Clay County’s annual rebuilding day.

Hundreds of volunteers spread around the county to make 23 houses safe and healthy homes. The goal is to help people who are disadvantaged, whether they have a disability or struggle financially.

“It’s just my daughter and I, and it’s been difficult financially,” said Kim Stagg, whose home was rebuilt and renovated.

Volunteers were willing to put in the sweat to help Stagg out. Suzan Trotter, a volunteer from Liberty Christian Church, called the day a blessing.

“It’s just a blessing that all of these people are willing to work and we’ve got some really talented people, so we can do a lot of really good things for homeowners,” Trotter said.

Even Stagg’s daughter helped out with the work, leveling the floor out of her bedroom.

Clay McQuerry, who is the founder of Rebuilding Together Clay County, is proud of the work that was accomplished.

“It’s amazing what a group of volunteers can do in just one day,” McQuerry said. “You get enough help and folks are really passionate about doing something good and it’s amazing what you’d accomplish.”

They helped bring kindness and support to someone in need.

“It means a great deal that there’s so many kind people that are willing to help out,” Stagg said.

Rebuilding Together Clay County has worked on almost 600 homes over the last 15 years. If you need help like Kim did, or want to lend a helping hand, you can go to their website at http://www.rebuildingtogetherclaycounty.org/.
