Driver of alleged murderer of Jacob Brantner hit with felony charges

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A woman who drove the suspect accused of gunning down Jacob Brantner in a grocery store parking lot has been charged. 

Rahnesha Carson, 21, has been charged with accessory to robbery in the second degree, hindering prosecution, leaving the scene of a shooting and tampering with physical evidence. 

Brantner was fatally shot in April 2016. 

Court records state Carson was informed by phone messages from co-defendant Fazon Swinton that he was going to rob Brantner. 

Swinton was charged with second-degree murder, second-degree robbery, armed criminal action and leaving the scene of a shooting.

Carson is accused of driving him away from the scene and providing false statements about injuries to police. 

Documents also state she attempted to get rid of the vehicle. 

After she initially said she was not with Swinton at the time of the murder, she later admitted to police she was indeed with him.

Brantner, 39, was murdered in front of his child in what he thought was going to be a meeting to finish an online gun sale.
