LEAVENWORTH, KS (KCTV) -

A woman killed in a car wreck in Leavenworth County is being remembered by her community.

Kelly Fowler, 51, served Tonganoxie as a postmaster.

People who work in Tonganoxie say she was a people person. She knew postal codes inside and out and those close to her said her personality made her successful.

The wreck happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. Monday afternoon on 24/40-Highway between 243rd Street and Cantrell Road in Leavenworth County.

Authorities say a man in a GMC Sierra 2500 was driving eastbound on 24/40 Highway when he crossed the center line and ran head-on into a woman and two minors in a Chevy Equinox. A 16-year-old and a 1-year-old were also injured in the wreck.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital.

Fowler's friends add they believe the town will do everything it can to support Fowler's family.
