KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

At 74th and Cherry in Kansas City, it's a case of "whoooooo" done it.

Runner Tyson Sprick has quite the tale to tell after he was attacked by an owl while out and about in the Waldo neighborhood.

"I just saw this huge shadow of these huge wings," Sprick said. "I had this huge talon on my head."

Neighbor Paige Waits heard some commotion outside.

"I heard some commotion and I saw a guy who was out walking sort of fall down so I was concerned he'd gotten," Paige said. "I didn't know if someone attacked him."

Residents in the Waldo neighborhood say following the attack, they've researched the animal. It's recommended that if you have tiny dogs, you should be careful.

"I read up on it today," said neighbor Derek Mantle. "Give them some cover. Don't be out in the open. if you have two dogs, make sure they're out there together."

Those who live in the neighborhood believe they've found the owl's nest.

Meanwhile, the bird remains on the loose.
