KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A man who was found inside a Brookside home on Wednesday faced felony charges on Thursday.

Raymond C. Hoblia, 34, faces charges of attempted burglary in the first degree, burglary in the second degree, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Hoblia was already a convicted felon with robbery and burglary charges, among others, so it is illegal for him to have a firearm.

Prosecutors have requested a bond of $50,000.

Court records filed on Thursday told the story.

A resident in the 400 block of W. 59th Terrace watched a man try to open the sliding door on the western side of his home. That resident called police, and officers who were working undercover nearby responded to the scene.

The officers tracked the suspect to a nearby house and saw that a window screen had been cut and a window had been opened.

Officers, with a K-9’s assistance, found Hoblia hiding in a bedroom closet.

Hoblia suffered a dog bite and was taken into custody.
