KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 isn't the only thing getting heated.

Customers are too.

The company distributed 500,000 phones Wednesday to providers to replace recalled devices that could explode.

High demand and low supply have led to frustrations in Kansas City.

One of those frustrated customers is Bobby Kansil. Kansil has received a message on his Note 7 nearly every day, warning about the danger of the phone.

The message reads:

"Power down and stop using this phone. The battery may overheat posing a fire or burn risk."

Kansil was excited Wednesday to get his replacement. Unfortunately, the store nearest to him sold out of the phones.

KCTV5 looked into the low supply issues. It turns out the company has only sent out enough replacements to cover half of the recalled devices nationwide.

"It was kind of like, we're sold out and we only had eight," Kansil said. "It's just been very annoying."

A representative from Verizon told KCTV5 supplies are limited, but shipments should be coming in the coming days and weeks.

Verizon says if you go to a store that doesn't have the supply to replace the phone, you can take home a temporary phone while you wait for the new Note 7.
