The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 51-year-old Cheryl Riegerix was driving the car westbound on a road in Osage Beach late Friday night when it crossed the center line, went down an embankment and hit a tree. ST. LOUIS (AP) - The nonprofit group behind the long-delayed streetcar set to operate in St. Louis' Loop area and University City says operation won't begin unless it gets $500,000. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Loop Trolley Co. recently notified local officials that it must have the money to cover startup costs and operating deficits. The $51 million trolley was originally supposed to start running in 2016, but has been pushed back several times.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Officials are testing for asbestos among the debris left from a massive St. Louis warehouse fire. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that federal Environmental Protection Agency personnel and contractors gathered samples Friday in areas around the collapsed remains of Park Warehouse Service. EPA on-scene coordinator Heath Smith says test results would be available by Monday. Smith says the charred debris does not necessarily present a hazard, but advised nearby residents not to touch it.

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. (AP) - An Independence man faces charges after being accused of threatening Lee's Summit police with a rifle. Jackson County prosecutors say 30-year-old Richard Connely has been charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. Authorities say officers had stopped Connely and gave chase when he fled in a pickup. Police say during the chase, Connely slowed and pointed a rifle at the officers. Police say Connely was later arrested after wrecking the truck and fleeing on foot.
