Shirts made to help Roadrunner on his road to recovery

Posted: Updated:
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The dog Roadrunner, who was abused so badly that his eyes had to be removed, has stolen a lot of hearts around Kansas City.

Now there's a new way you can help him.

Roadrunner lost both eyes after being thrown off a balcony. He's now in foster care and going through rehabilitation with the help of KC Pet Project.

People can help fund that care.

Raygun shirts is now selling shirts with Roadrunner's picture on it and the words “Roadrunner is my hero.” All proceeds from the shirt sales go directly to support the dog on his road to recovery, according to Raygun's Facebook page.

Roadrunner's former owner was in court Thursday. Kimberly Anderson is charged with felony animal abuse, accused of tossing the dog from the third floor. She denies doing anything wrong and says the dog was hit by a car.
