Former Kansas City area nurse accused of sexually assaulting patients

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

A man is accused of assaulting patients when he was a nurse at a hospital in Wyandotte County and authorities fear there could be additional victims.

Dennis Clark is accused of sexually assaulting three women at Providence Medical Center between March 8 and May 14. Clark was a nurse in the recovery room.

In a statement issued to KCTV5 on Monday, Providence Medical Center said Clark is no longer employed by the hospital.

"We hold the safety of our patients as our highest priority and are cooperating fully with law enforcement," the hospital said. "Beyond that, we can't comment due to privacy issues."

Clark worked previously for Menorah Medical Center and Olathe Medical Center. None of the charges against Clark was alleged to have occurred at either facility. Due to the frequency and nature of the allegations against Clark, including when patients were in a vulnerable physical and mental state while recovering from surgery, authorities are concerned there are additional victims.

A spokesperson for Olathe Medical Center said they don't comment on past and present employees. Menorah representatives did not respond to a request for comment.

The Wyandotte County District Attorney's office has asked the judge to seal the filings in the case against Clark, who faces three counts of aggravated sexual battery. The judge has yet to rule.
