Recipe for Flavored Simple Syrup 2 cup White Sugar 2 cup Water 20 mint leaves with stems removed or 1 vanilla bean split longways DIRECTIONS Distress mint by mashing or muddling or split Vanilla Bean longways. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, 1 cup water, and mint (or vanilla bean). Place over medium heat, and cook, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; let cool. (Let syrup sit for several hours longer if making vanilla flavor) Strain through a sieve. Syrup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks.
