KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) - A murder in Midtown has neighbors rattled, as they seek answers into who would kill a woman who was so kind to everyone.

Teresa Kellough was a recent addition to the Manheim Park neighborhood - one that is a tight-knit bunch of people.

Some of them moved to the neighborhood intentionally to be together. So when Kellough was found shot in her home Tuesday, the loss is one that many feel.

Those who knew Kellough casually will remember her cheerful demeanor and her bellowing laugh.

"That would be a loud Irish laugh. I can't even reproduce it. It was pretty loud," said Bill Drummond, a friend and a neighbor who discovered her body along with co-workers who had come by to see why she had missed work.

But those who came to clean out her house in the 4200 block of Forest Avenue on the day after death, they remembered other things, like how she surrounded people with love.

"Whatever you brought into your world, she would find the best in you, encourage the best in you," Drummond said.

Kellough worked as a dog groomer at Pete and Mac's in Lenexa and wasn't the type to skip out.

Drummond says her death, now ruled a homicide, will do anything but instill fear in a neighborhood that has been working to cut crime.

"The neighbors are more determined than ever that something like this will of course never happen again, and that our commitment to community has now increased," he said.

The neighbors will hold a memorial service at the Manheim Park neighborhood community garden at 11 a.m. Saturday.
