Oak Grove man, 79, killed in I-70 wreck

A 79-year-old Oak Grove, MO, man was killed late Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Billy L. Moore drove his 1994 Pontiac in the wrong direction and struck another car head-on.

Moore was pronounced dead on the scene. he was not wearing a seatbelt, troopers say.

The wreck happened about 11:30 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the interstate near the 53-mile marker.

Troopers had to shutdown all lanes of the highway while they cleared debris from the scene and investigated.

The driver of the other car, a 21-year-old St. Louis man, was not injured.

Authorities are still looking into what caused the accident.
