HENRICO COUNTY FIRE DEPT. HENRICO COUNTY FIRE DEPT.
HENRICO, VA (WWBT) -

Shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday, Henrico fire crews responded to a house in the 9700 block of Taylors Crossing Court for a fire that started on the rear deck and traveled up the home's exterior to the attic.  When crews first arrived, heavy smoke was seen coming from the roof.

The family was able to get out of the house safely on their own.  The fire department quickly extinguished the attic and deck fires but there is significant damage to the roof of the home.

The two adults and one child living in the home will be displaced and the American Red Cross is assisting them.  No one was injured and the cause has been determined to be an energized electrical outlet near the rear deck.
