    Tucson police told Tucson News Now that Raymond Collins, a manager at the Midas at East Speedway Boulevard and North Craycroft Road, made false warranty claims from October 2014 to April 2016, totaling $7,900.

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A man who was shot Friday morning in midtown Tucson has died, police said.

According to a news release from the Tucson Police Department, detectives have information that this shooting may be gang related. 

A TPD spokesman said the shooting occurred at 7:44 a.m. in the parking lot of the Taco Loco Grille, located at 736 E. Fort Lowell Road.

Police say there were several witnesses. Police also received a report of a man with a shotgun.

Salpointe Catholic High School at 1545 E. Copper Street was placed on lockdown orders that have since been lifted.

Police are searching for a man they suspect to be the shooter. He was last seen running east and was last seen in a wash near Fort Lowell and North Mountain Avenue. Police say they have recovered a gun near the scene of the shooting.

The search is large, with about 24 patrol units near the scene and a helicopter overhead.

According to police the victim and suspect appear to have known each other. There was an altercation and the shooting happened at close range, police say.

The victim, identified at 30-year-old Diego Valdez, was found suffering from gunshot trauma and taken to a local trauma center, where he died.

The Tucson Police Homicide and Gang detectives are investigating this incident. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
