RAYTOWN, MO (KCTV) -

A man has died in a Raytown neighborhood in what police are calling a homicide.

The body of 33-year old Patterson Jennings was found about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the street, in the 6900 block of Hunter Avenue.

Raytown police say they do consider his death to be suspicious.

Investigators are still working to gather information and do not have any suspects at this time.

The death has devastated Jennings' family.

Douglas Jennings, the victim's father, said he and Patterson Jennings' mother are relying on their faith to endure the nightmare and hoping for justice.

"God will deal with that," he said. "All I can hope for is that he (his son) had completely made peace with God and then I know where he's at."

Terria Jenkins, a cousin, was shocked by the death.

"You expect criminals to have things like this happen because of their lifestyle," Jenkins said. "That's not his lifestyle."
