A Kingsport man was arrested Saturday after he pulled a handgun on a man in a local restaurant.

According to a Kingsport Police Department news release, police responded to Dairy Queen, 819 Lynn Garden Drive, where they made contact with a man who said an acquaintance of his, Jimmie W. McGhee, 68, 646 Gravely Road, put a gun to his back while he was in line at the counter.

The man told police that he was ordering food when McGhee put a handgun to his back and ordered him to give him all of his money.

According to the report, the man turned around, pushed McGhee away and told him to put his gun away.

The man told police McGhee did put the gun away and said McGhee has brandished his weapon on him approximately 10 times.

According to the report, two Dairy Queen employees were behind the counter when McGhee had the gun out at the restaurant and video surveillance confirmed the incident.

Police located McGhee at his home, located the handgun and arrested him on three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one count of going armed.

He was taken to the Kingsport City Jail.
