Monsoon check-up - KCTV5

Monsoon check-up

Posted: Updated:

With more than half of the monsoon finished and only about a month left of rainfall, we still need some beneficial monsoon storms to dump Tucson with rain.

The monsoon will officially end at the end of the September but those rains usually get turned off by the beginning of the month. With about three weeks left of seeing thunderstorms in southeastern Arizona, most of us are still wanting some big storms and that includes the airport. As of today's date in the monsoon, we are over half inch below where we should be (at the airport). But some areas around the state are doing really well when it comes to the rains. Douglas, Sierra Vista and Nogales are all above the normal for this time in the monsoon.
