DENVER (CBS5) -

Olympic gold medalist Amy Van Dyken-Rouen is ready to come home.

Just weeks after being paralyzed in an ATV crash, the Valley radio personality is out of rehabilitation.

"The patients that are here and I've made lifelong friends and they've changed the way that I think about the world," Van Dyken-Rouen said. "I've met some amazing, inspiring people - young kids and they have really taught me a lot about the world."

In rehab she learned how to drive her hand controls, dress herself and pick things up from the floor, but she didn't say if she's regained any use of her legs.

Van Dyken-Rouen said she has plans to hang out in Colorado but will return to Arizona at the beginning of September.

She said she looks forward to getting her driver's license.
