TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - New details are coming out about a Tucson Police officer fired from the force.  The former Public Information Officer, Maria Hawke apparently lied on her resume about her degrees.  Part of those new details are in a copy of an internal investigation of Hawke.

Hawke was fired by Tucson Police in April 2014, for being 'untruthful'.  New documents now show that she was not being truthful about her college education.

TPD Human Resources reviewed Hawke's education background during the promotion process to become a lieutenant.  HR officers discovered that Hawke could not prove she had degrees from the University of Arizona in sociology, biochemistry and the classics, even though she told HR that she earned those degrees.

The report also states that Hawke wrote an online bio for the Southern Arizona Women of Law Enforcement, which she also claimed to have those three same degrees.

Hawke cannot be hired by the Tucson Police Department, but she can still apply for employment with other departments in the city.
