Dog bite turns out to be misunderstanding

Posted: Updated:
OLATHE, KS (KCTV) -

A happy ending to what was first thought to be a frightening story in Olathe.

Earlier Tuesday evening, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office told KCTV5 News that a 12-year-old girl was bitten in the face by a dog and that dog was still on the loose.

However, after responding to the scene, officers from the Olathe Police Department determined that was not the case. They said that the girl was playing with the dog when she got up and started running with the dog chasing her. The girl fell and scraped her face. She did not require medical attention.
